Draft pattern: bolero or shirt

You will need a basic bodice. You can draft it or download it from this blog and print it.

Take front of the bodice. Measure from waist to the top of the dart. Divide the result by two. Cut out the bottom half (BH) . Take back of the bodice. Cut of the same length (BH).

We will make a pattern manipulation so we will end up with only one dart.

Add the paper under pattern and glue it on. Bottom of this pattern is divided on two parts and in the middle is dart. Draw straight lines on both parts and make it longer so they close the dart.

Measure that bottom of dart length.

Divide measurement by three. Use the result (R) and add 1 cm in between.

For the second (bottom) part of the pattern you will need the 1/4 hip measurement for the bottom. On folded side cutted length (BH) plus at least 20 cm. On top: for the front side measure the bottom length from first (fron bodice) pattern (without R); for back side measure the bottom length from first (back bodice) pattern.

If you want to know how to sew it together chack my other post
